Hey I know I am new here but I have been having this issue with CEP...I will record my guitar, and when I finish and press stop the whole "armed" track I recorded on moves back a bit. It also happens when Punching In...any and all advice or help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Welcome to HRC.

What do you mean "moves back"...also, what are the specs of your PC and what kind of sound cars/audio interface do you have, sounds like it could be due to an underpowered computer or underperforming sound card/audio interface.

Thanks for the welcome :)

It moves back just a TINY little bit (the whole wave that was just recorded) i will play it, in time, then you can actually see the waveform move to the left everytime i stop recording, then it is just off beat, now i could move it i know, but the problem is more in the "punch in" stuff cause it will do it to the small section you punch but you can't re-line it up because it is just the wave in the track that moves, not the track as a whole. god this is hard to explain...lol

also i am using a X-plosion cinema 7.1 sound card

I am using a POD XT live to the card

Could be a matter of Windows 7 and CEP 2.1. Cool Edit is ancient. Grab a free copy of Reaper. Also, your sound card is probably not doing you an favors as well. Seems to me you could use your POD as an audio interface instead. USB???

Thanks man! I tried out Reaper...but i am still having issues even with it....i have no idea why but every time i record it's like my computer loses "time" as i record it sounds good, stop and listen back and it is off time...it's really obnoxious...lol any ideas?

EDIT
I did use the POD as an interface through USB...same deal bro...

Yeah, I'm with BeerHunter, the card is likely at least a piece of the problem. That looks like a totally decent card for playback, not so much for recording, much less both at the same time...I bet it rocks for watching movies, listening to music and such though recording is a whole different task.

Oh, hell no, that'd be worse...

I forget the specs of the POD XT Pro, but does that have a USB output that you could run into your PC? If so, can the audio data be sent out to the PC thru that?

If not, you'd seriously be best off getting a recording sound card...an inexpensive one, but effective is something like the Audiophile 2496 www.homerecordingconnecti...oduct=MDOAP2496 it has good quality audio and good drivers with low latency.

That said, your COULD try ASIO4ALL drivers with your Realtek and see if it helps at all. asio4all.com/

What are your buffers set at? Since CEP does not support ASIO you should check your multitrack options and make sure "auto correct for drift" is enabled as well.
