Anyone use the Digidesign Command 8 with Pro Tools? I am looking at that or upgrading from my Mbox 2 to a 002 or 003 or keeping it and getting a separate tactile control surface to use with Pro Tools, any suggestions?

Can't comment on the Command 8, I use a ProjectMix with PT M-Powered. As far as your upgrade is concerned, I know a guy with a 002 that also has the BLAudio mods applied to it. He's letting stuff go for cheap. I'm getting an IK multimedia bundle that includes Amplitube 2, T-Racks, and Sampletank for $50 (the cost of the license transfer...he's basically just giving it to me). Emails in my profile if you're interested. I'll send you a whole list of stuff he's unloading...lots of great deals to be had man! I'll ship it myself if that makes you more comfortable. I think he wants under a thousand for the 002, with the BLaudio mod that's kind of a steal IMO.

If the motorized faders are what you're after, I've been pretty happy with my projectmix i/o. A lot of the complaints I heard against PMix had to do with its pre-amps, but I found that when I started using an external API clock the quality of the Pmix pre-amps shot through the roof...I got an API A2D, which includes API 312 pre-amps and an API word clock; both of which connect to the Pmix via SPDIF. Gives me 10 pre's for simultaneous multitracking...which in my mind is enough.

So you're studio's based out of Glendale is it? That's where my girlfriend grew up. Your facility/website look fantastic! I might find myself in that area here in the next 6 months or so...any chance you'll have time for a little tour and Q&A? I'm working on getting a publishing company set up in Kansas City; and my recording studio is at the center of that operation. I'd love to get into some details with you, your business is looking great!

Well, the modded 002 sounds like a great deal for sure, just that Black Lion only modifies the Rack version, which has more room for added components than the control surface version... which is what i would like ultimately. I could get a C24 or ProControl, drool... but this is just for the house...

Quincysan, for sure I can show you around the studio... even others if you'd like, let me know when you get the itinerary down. Yeah, well the facility is definitely a great place to create, however, it's not mine any longer since I've sold my share, but hey, i'm an OG in that place so I still get preferencial treatment :)
