hello everyone, im now here and this forum is great. ive been researching trying to figure out something for a project im working in

I'm a drummer and the tunes my band is playing have midi loops with synth, drums and other things like ambience etc..
that correcpond to each section of the song. right now we have a guy on a laptop triggering each loop, im not sure what software he's using.

what we'd like to do is have these loops able to be triggered from a drum pad behind the kit using my laptop and some kind of hardware midi controller.

what software can i use for this?

im new to this whole thing, just trying to make the tunes work without a big headache from the "laptop player"

thank you very much!

Here's a basic answer:

www.rolandus.com/products...p?ProductId=537

I just watched the intro, and the guy is quite a goof.

I have found a program back years ago that would play back whatever wave file based on keyboard hits. Like, attach a 'moo' sound file to the m key, and every time you hit 'M' it moos, kind of thing.

I don't know if you could make it work for your purpose, but it's free. The sampling pad is not =/

Dang if I can remember the name of that program . . . I'll have to think on it.

St. Vincent's drummer does that very thing, maybe you can find something online based on that criteria.
