Hello everyone...im looking for a set of powered monitors. My price range is from 200-400 dollars. Any help would be appreciated!

Apr 17, 2010 06:53 pm I like the little Samson's I have, they make bigger ones, decent prices, decent sound, as good as you'll get for the money. Alesis monitors are inexpensive and look attractive for that reason, but listen first, cuz I personally don't dig their sound.
JBL makes a few decent priced models that sound good.

Apr 17, 2010 09:35 pm I bought and took back some JBL's recently.
At first i was amazed that a quality speaker, let alone a JBL would have a problem, from Brand new, with a woofer.
So i took it back, waited for 3 months for JBL's repairer, before i finally gave the music shop an ultimatium in which they ordered me a brand new one.
So, i got that, was happy, took it outta the box....tweeter didnt work!? WTF?
cut a long story short, im only giving a heads up on JBL's.
i guess you can take my story any way you want but thought i would throw it out there you know. 2 speakers in row seems a bit out there really.
i got store credit and threw another 480 in the hat and bought some EMES 6 inch quartz. man i think they are the ****. they sound so flat and dry. just what i need for my bearly treated room.

Apr 18, 2010 02:10 am For the nickels, I've heard the Behringer Truths are quite a nice grab for the money.
I don't beans about them otherwise, but have heard some nice things.

Apr 21, 2010 01:42 pm Can't go wrong with a set of M-Audio BX5a or BX8a Deluxe monitors either (for the money). They're quite popular and always recommended.
Apr 21, 2010 06:50 pm I am also in the market for studio monitors... I have had my eyes on the Mackie MR5, any thoughts on those???
