PLEASE HELP! DAW stopped bouncing stereo files/USB problem

I have 2 issues and am pretty sure they are related. A little background so please bear with me.

I run Digital Performer. I got a new interface this past weekend - an M-audio fast track ultra 8r. I demoed it for a night and temporarily plugged the USB cable into the front USB port on my Mac G5. Everything worked fine. I recorded and bouced out without a hitch.

I bought it the next day and then permanently put it in my rack and moved the USB to the back of the computer. It plays audio just fine. Now, my front USB does not read anything except the interface though. If I put a thumb drive in, it never shows up. Any ideas?

As for Digital Performer. If I have a session, say 1 stereo instrumental and 10 mono vocal tracks and I bounce out all files - it only plays the vocals. Playback in DP plays everything. If I record, it records fine in mono or stereo.

What would cause this?

I have reinstalled the driver and nothing. I tried swithcing the output cables and nothing. This is driving me crazy. I'm hoping someone may know a fix for either. Thanks!

When you say you reinstalled the driver...does that mean you UNINSTALLED the original, and reinstalled it again from scratch?

If you just overwrote the install it may not change original settings...while I don't know the details of this, I have seen USB devices act oddly or simply make problems if they have been put into a different USB port than they were in when installed.

It sounds odd, but I've seen it happen at time with a few different devices.
