Recording using Guitar Rig 4 and POD X3 Live

Hi all, this is my first post in this forum. Great to see so many like minded folks in here.

I've been a musician for a while now, recorded a lot with various kinds of devices. I just got Guitar Rig 4 to try something new and I really like some if the effects. For some reason, I'm not a able to record using GR4.

My setup is really simple - Guitar->POD-(USB)-GR4->POD->Amp.

I can hear the wet sound on my amp and everything is fine but when I try to record in the tape deck, the bar jumps to the end and the timer doesn't start. Obviously, the saved output wav file has nothing in it.
I'm using the ASIO POD X3Live as 'Device' for GR4.

Any help appreciated.
Cheers!

Welcome to HRC!

Hey I'm getting a Pod X3 Live delivered atm, what're they like? Worth the money?

I'm not sure why it's not working, I don't know much about tape decks, but you should just be able to add GR4 as a plug-in on one of the channels.
Btw why would you use GR4 when Pod X3 Live comes with free Podfarm plugin downloads?

Hi, the X3 is definitely worth the money. They're great in the studio and live. Just to be clear, by tape deck I meant the one in GR4, which has the record button on it.

Why do I use GR4? Just to try out something new. I made a pretty cool sitar-like patch by trial and error and I'm dying to record it.
