(1)technically...what does roll off mean? ive always just kinda assumed i knew what it meant, but i want to know for sure..and another thing...(2)how are those Tannoy Proto-J monitors...they sell for about $200 a pair, and i was looking at them...if they arent good...what are some good monitors i can get for a nice price...and yet another question...(3) What do all you guys use as far as a mic is concerned on the kick drum? Ive been looking the AKGd112, as well as the sennheiser mk4112, or something like that, which one is preferred...or what other mics are preferred? thanks - jerry

I could be wrong here, but I always took it to mean that that is the point where response starts diminishing...

The Tannoy moniter's have alway's been something I steered away from. Not because they are bad, it is just they have a tendancy to be coloured sound wise. For some application's that is good. I used them in the past to simulate home stereo speaker's or boombox speaker's. A good referance moniter will be very flat. The Tannoy's are very bright and will not give you a good flat sound to listen to.
