Recording Software Compatible with Reason ReWire

I'm looking for recording software that is compatible with reason rewire. However, I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it. Ideally, no more than $300. I also want it to be VST compatible, as I have bought several VST plugins. I'm currently working with Cubase LE4 and I use Mac OSX 10.6. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks!

Fruity Loops Studio is ReWire compatible. I've used it ReWired with Cubase SE1, which makes me think that your version of Cubase should be ReWire compatible as well, isn't it? Maybe that's one of the things that's disabled in the "LE" version. But heck, if SE1 worked with it, I would imagine that LE4 would work. Maybe the Mac version has different features disabled than the Windows version. Who knows, Steinberg makes some weird decisions when it comes to these things.

well, I actually read in another thread on this site that cubase le was originally designed for powerpc macs. the only reason it works on intel macs is because cubase its an emulator or something. so only the intel based cubase versions will work. i just dont wanna have to buy the full version of cubase.

I don't know much about it, but Propellerhead Record, but it looks like it might fit your needs. Maybe someone else knows more pros and cons about it.
