New Website, new music

Hey all, I just finished putting together a new website for my music. I added some new beats that I've made that I've previously never shared with anybody except a few close friends. Some are pretty old and others are brand spanking new. If you have a moment and the inclination, you can check it out at:
www.bossmonk.com

Any and all feedback is welcome. I am aware that the mix on all the beats are super rough, they're their mostly just to show off composition.

Bace135 is definitely in the house tonight!

Site looks great and I like the beats; but I have to admit the vocal loop that I assume is there to prevent bootlegging is kind of distracting. I think if someone really wants to swoop your beats they could remove the vocals easily enough. Perhaps best to let the beats play out and instead of doing the audible watermark, maybe send your stuff to Harry Fox to get a time stamp on this material. Then again...we see how well that worked for Queen with Vanilla Ice...maybe you're onto something with the audio watermark. From a shopping standpoint though; it's a little hard to see past.
Also: I don't see a place for people to inquire about licensing your beats. The contact form is cool but I bet site visitors would like a section dedicated to licensing info.

Hey, thanks for the responses fellas.

Deon, thanks for having pity on me and checking it out.

Quincysan, thanks for listening to the beats. I know what you mean about the audio watermarks. I've debated myself for years on whether or not I should use them. I decided to go with them as there are far too many stories in the hip hop world of beats being put out by aspiring beat makers and being used by known artists and then having to fight to get recognition that it was their beat originally. As far as I know, there is no technology that "easily" removes a watermark like that (I know melodyne was working on something that could prolly do it, but I never heard that it actually hit the market). And as far as licensing goes, I guess I'm not really concerned about it. I will rap over them, or I will let friends of mine or people I know in real life rap over them. I'm happy with that. I guess it's more of a site for me to show off rather than a site to sell beats. But honestly, I do appreciate the feedback and the suggestions.

And dB, considering web design is your business, comments like that mean alot!

Dude, I haven't been on much working the scout slide show again as usual for this time of year. I had a quick look but will give it a better look next weekend with more time I hope. Looked very cool as well I must agree with dB on that. I breezed the bio as well quick and that is pretty cool to not follow the norm on that as well.

Noize, no doubt, I know how the scouts keep you busy! Please tell me you guys weren't doing the snow camping again this year.

I appreciate checking it and letting me know. All feedback is good feedback.

Did you do the site yourself? Or did you have a 3rd party do it? Or is it an out-of-the-box kind of thing? Either way, it does look good, very slick and polished. That adds so much credibility to an artist's material, when its presented in a slick interface/presentation.

Nothing worse than the flourescent pink flashing all-caps calls for attention by someone who just cracked open his new copy of "HTML For Dummies" for the first time that morning.

I'll give a listen to the songs on there throughout the morning. I'm on a conference call so they may not appreciate the background music from my phone :)

Ha ha. Actually I did the site myself. I used drupal, a pretty popular, content management system. Basically, they provide you with the basics, but it took quite a bit of customization to get it how I wanted it. I did all the graphics myself as well.

Again, thanks for giving it a look see.

The problem is, this semester is ridiculous and I don't really have time to be making much music, so updates will be rare, I think. I am taking wave physics though which is pretty cool as it does cover sound waves. And just for the record I'm also taking modern physics (special relativity/atomic scale physics), materials science, and a math class (linear algebra and differentiable equations in one class).
