Reaper Delay Problems

Hey all.
Ive been using Reaper for a while now, and for the price I've been very pleased with it, though I've noticed a terrible delay.

I'd heard alot about bad delay in reaper, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to amend it. I've tried decreasing the buffer size and so on, but without losing MASSIVE amounts of sound quality, I have no success eliminating the delay.

I've been running it with a laptop with a dual 2.0 processor and 3gigs of ram, and another laptop with 2gigs of ram, but I find the same problem in both.

Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated!

What sound device are you using? If you are using your standard laptop input and output, that would be the problem, not reaper.

Are you using the ASIO driver for sure in Reaper?
