Control automation with midi pedal

I bought a line 6 fbv mkII usb midi pedal. Works with all standard midi (no sysex though which kinda sucks because you need sysex to switch preference tones in gearbox).

But what i was wondering was, is it possible to control the automation and effect parameters in cubase with midi values? Ive been searching help but didn't find the answer, which probably means thats a no.
