Ok just uploaded this. Tried uploading to HRC but it wouldn't work :\

Go easy on the mix, i can definately tell its a little rough. The bass pops a lot and i'm not sure how i messed that up :\ It sounded great threw my PA. I really need to go get a set of nearfields. Not yet though :\

Anyway, go easy but be honest here and let me know anything that needs improved on my next go round. i'm done with this song. done. one of the first songs i wrote so its not THAT good compared to some of the material i believe i'm capable of. And i spent a month on this song already because my computer crashed big time.

anyway. not to keep you waiting. Critique away :]
It's Alright

Btw, any free copyright websites out there?

Very nice work, great song and performance.

For me, on my monitors mind you, the lead vocal is a little up front "at times" and the backups compete with/conflict on the low end. You may try rolling of the lows on backup vocals a little more than you would a lead vocal. Are the backups panned? Doubled? Just curious how you went about it.

This is a already a great mix though so don't get me wrong, the things I comment on are far from song breakers, just the couple things I noticed.

Hey man i take no offense here haha. I can feel its rough edges but its nice to not only have them pinpointed, but actual advice on how to get them fixed. Thanks a lot :]

And i'll keep that in mind, i had the opposite thinking. Since its a low harmony i thought "eh, lets crank the bass on these puppies" but what you said makes perfect sense. They should compliment each other, not compete.

And on these harmonies, there's actually two of them. The lows aren't panned. I had them panned at first then switched to center. Forget why i did that lol. Then theres a real faint unison but i'm sort of using a different register. I'm not really sure why i decided to do that either lol. I just sorta did it and decided to stick it in there. I have them panned to the right, 40 or 50.

Thanks guys glad you like it! I'll keep you posted when i have any more material!

Great song! I would have this on my play list. I was listening on computer speakers so I take that in mind. I really liked the vocals up front, but had the desire for a fatter/beefier sound on the instruments. A+ on the construction of the song.

Ya i agree, i couldn't quite find the tone i was looking for! More experimenting with Pod Farm over the coming months will most likely pay off. Thanks for the commendation!

Sorry I'm so late getting back to this, having been in Europe and dealing with my wedding and all that jazz, and having some nice Christmas relaxation time after getting back.

I think the up front vocals work fine for this style of song, and everything sounds well mixed and well constructed. I kinda share Tripps' sentiments on the low vocal harmonizing, but like he said, it's just minor niggling, and definitely not a deal breaker by any means.

Great job on the vocals too. I'm looking forward to hearing more in the future.

Thanks! And no problem thanks for listening at all. Glad you had a good time with your new wifey!!! ;) Europe, not too shabby! Looked a little chilly (i'm assuming the breath frosted on your scarf was from your honeymoon trip) but beautiful sightseeing!

Anyway thanks guys. I'm working on another softer song, then i'm getting into some hard rock-ish genres that have always enticed me ever since i started listening to music (my first CD i ever owned as a kid was linkin parks "Hybrid Theory." Hell of a band for an 8 or 9 year old to start singing along to daily lolol)

Anyway, seriously guys on any mix from this point on go MEAN on the critiquing. It's Alright was definitely a huge learning experience, every part i added i ran into more problems (and took days trying to fix each one) but i think i'm finally getting the hang of it, so i'd like some nit picking hehe.
