Hi all,
Kinda new to this software business but been doing really well up until now!
I'm using Cubase LE4 to mix a few tracks. 2 guitarists, 2 vocals- 6 tracks in all. I was using the built-in compressors on cubase on 3 of the tracks when all of a sudden... Kapoot!! I can still see the compressors in the inserts but they're greyed out. I tried removing al other effects, but no joy. Tried turning computer on and off.. still nothing.
I built my computer only a little while ago.. Intel Dual Core PC, 4GB Ram, 8400 processor, Windows XP.. is this a hardware or software issue?
These tracks have to be finished by the 10th of August, and it sounds s**t without a little compression on the vocals... any ideas?? Is there somthing I'm not checking? HELP!!

Jul 31, 2009 12:16 pm I personally would try creating a new project and inserting the .wav files in it to see if the project was corrupted. If that does not work, my next step would be a re-install of Cubase.
Jul 31, 2009 04:11 pm Sounds like Cubase has lost track of that particular plugin. Theres a menu under devices that says plug in manager or something... Hit that up and check that Cubase sees the plugin and that it is activated.

Jul 31, 2009 11:43 pm In my Cubase when a plugin is lost the name of it in the insert section will have !!effect!! to show that the program cant find it, it greys out though only when i freeze the track. Possible that happened?

Aug 01, 2009 06:57 pm Yep, it sounds like you may have inadvertently frozen the track or tracks. That would be the first thing I check. Usually if an item is grayed out it means it is still there just in a suspended state.
