Newbie looking for guidance

Hey all, Im new to this whole thing but after seeing a year of bad sound in the local club scene, Ive decided to get pro-active and try and do something about it. I have a band all lined up to work steady with as soon as I compile my gear and just need some guidance. I think that I would like to get the presonus studiolive board and build off of that. Are the reviews of this mixer accurate?

Help a guy and hopefully a music scene out please!

Generally, I am not the biggest fan of Presonus.

But...... The Rep for them came to where I work at. We looked it over, and I have to say.... Not Bad!

We own Yamaha DM 1000's, had we not have owed them, we just might have purchased this mixer.

As long as you keep your inputs down in numbers, I think it will be a great purchase for you.

After you get it, let us know how well it works for you.

Yes, the reviews are pretty close to accurate on them. I've only gotten about an hour of time working on one and it was pretty easy to use. It was in studio so I can't say exactly what it would be like live, but I would imagine it to be still a decent investment.

Analog mixer, and unpowered speakers? sounds like your sending LINE level signal to passive speakers. No wonder it's quiet =).

stand closer to the speakers. That always works for me.

Really though, shouldn't that be in a new thread?
