What is the budget? Do you have some sample content? How do you know it will reach A&R and DJ;s?

Mastering engineers get exposure?

Seriously though - If you're reasonably "serious" about the project - You aren't going to find a reasonably qualified engineer that's going to run it through the garden just for fun...

I think its spam really if you read it and add up the post to his website and serious about ur craft then his email address.

Pretty much looks like spam to me.

HR, I suggest you dial it down a notch. Get over yourself...it's perfectly understandable and accurate to advise that you wouldn't get somebody for free...it's not like anyone but you has been completely out of line here.

Telling the Admin to STFU isn't any way to go about building a rapport with people in the industry.

And you're almost right. Money doesn't necessarily buy opportunity (although it certainly can). But opportunity doesn't pay the bills.

I can tell you out of experience that 90% of the time, an "opportunity" like this leads to a whole bunch more "opportunities." Been there, done that. Did a project on spec and that lead to about a dozen requests to do other projects on spec. And that's on spec - Not simply for the opportunity.

I can also relate stories of some nightmares by people who got "free mastering" and wound up with a production master written on iTunes or what not (iTunes WILL NOT create a compliant disc) that wound up with 1000 copies of a disc that may or may not play with the TOC in the wrong sector, with no PQ logs. Much less the obvious crippling effect of not being able to edit PQ with frame-accuracy...

I have no doubt that you'll find a whole bunch of offers for "free mastering" (I have little doubt that none of those will be from reasonably established mastering engineers). And the chances are pretty good that you'll get what you paid for.

Oh and HR, I could give yo a rather large client list of hip-hop and rap artist's I've been involved with in one form or another.

But that's right, I need to STFU, because the only thing on my mind is money.

Lets see here....Noise2u, you ARE in fact a greedy bastard! I me, damn! Come on! Don't you remember early this year when I needed help with my at-the-time band's demo and you where there to "help" me along the way? I me, geeze... you where constantly replying to my posts and e-mails. Always where willing to help. and even downloaded uncompressed tracks to listen to them and/or patch them up for me. We had to have used a bazillion bytes of bandwidth. And of course, afterwards, you sent me a HUGE *** bill!

And I had to pay it out of my own pocket!!! you greedy bastard! That grand total of $0.00 you charged me for all the EXPENSIVE money grubbing help was a huge stressful mess on my end! DAMN YOU!

HA

HA

HA

I love it :)

Wow.... someone telling one of the nicest, easy going, and not to mention the most helpful person for me personally when it comes to home recordings to shut the fudge up... that isn't going to sit well with me.

Then again, the dude is an idiot.

I am laying good odds that in the last 2 1/2 years, he likely got it mastered.

Reading the first post, you'd think he (and whoever he found to master it) would be freaking famous by now.

But alas, the website is gone - and he hasn't even signed into MySpace since 2008.

Lol back when I thought mastering meant applying effects, making edits, and setting levels.... THAT'S MIXING! I've gotten way better at this stuff in the last year thanks to you guys. Now I correctly advertise my MIXING services.
