Recording onto ACID PRO7

Hi
I am trying to connect my mic to the computer in order to record onto ACID PRO 7 without it recording everything else that's playing as well as my voice.

At present it is connected via my PA mixer (which is used for the speakers as well). When I have backing music playing that is also on Acid and am singing over it, the mic 'line' is re-recording the backing line as well as my voice. Obviously this is not helpful, especially at times when I need to 'fix' bits of my singing or move it etc and the waves are a mix of my voice and the repeated backing music.

Please let me know what I can do so that the system just records my voice.

Thank you

Go into the Windows sound settings, the little speaker icon down in the tray on the right. In recording options uncheck the box that is marked what you hear. That should take care of it.

That is as I am assuming you are using the built in sound chip on the mother board.
