Ok, I am running IE8 on both my laptop and desktop, they both do the same thing. The "my account" dopdown list that usually is a button is auto expanded and appears like it's own table or something. Pic below.

Can't edit as I can't see but wanted to say... This does not happen on my work PC and seems to be exclusive to IE8 so far. On a positive note, I stay logged in now!!!

Tripps, you need to run the updates for IE8 compatibility mode. Or go in and turn compatibility mode on.

I and BH I think had the same issues. I installed the IE8 updates and it fixed it.

That is one reason I stick with Firefox though, no issues like this on FF.

I am 100% up to date as far as windows update is concerned. I will check the compatibility mode. Both are windows Vista (one 32 and one 64).

I do believe IE8 is Vista only...

That is weird, I am digging through the code, corrected a few little things, but it breaks now matter what in IE8, compatibility mode fixes it every time.

On the up side, IE's view source text window has line numbers now, AWESOME IDEA for developers!

Jeez, I swear I just posted a reply here. Oh well.

IE 8 is running on two of my XP Pro boxes and on the sifes XP Home box without any troubles. So it is for both XP and Vista it would seem.

But ya, compatibility mode is the answer indeed. And once IE8 is in comp mode the latest update to it now allows it to check on a list of websites that need to run in that mode and it will switch to it when it needs to. At least that is what I read in the little blurb they put with the update.

Same thing happens here. Thanks for the tip on compatibility mode, it takes care of it.

the only issue i have is, when i click on a topic in "community" sometimes, it goes to the selected page, but then goes back to communtiy again.

when it does this, i have to leave the site and start IE again for it to stop, otherwise it just keeps dong it.

i had this probelm before too, could it be a setting on this computer?

Hmmmm, that's weird, not sure what would cause that.

I am surprised so many technically minded people actually use IE tho...kinda disappointing, really.

I am looking for a solution to that compatability mode thing tho, that's weird.

It's weird...I use Camino on my Mac, and I used to have to log in every time I navigated to HRC. Since the new layout, however, HRC remembers me every time.

And forever, when I used to hit the "back" button to go out to my list of threads, HRC always kicked me back out to the home page, requiring another click on "40 Recently Active Topics". Since the new layout, I don't have to do that anymore either.

Win-win for me!

that's good to know. The "remember me" thing was fixed about the same time I went design crazy...so it makes sense.

Oh, and isn't the login popup window wicked cool!

Aw, sweeeeet! I had never seen the new pop-up login window because I never have to log in anymore. So I just logged out and then logged back in.

Sweeeet!

All in all...HRC still remains the first site I visit everyday. It's a great place, even if I don't seem to make any time to do any actual recording anymore.

I hadn't seen the login screen since it was first set up I don't think.
