Custom Earphones Recommendation

Hello,

I am looking to get a set of custom earbuds since my odd shaped ears dont fit any type of regular earpiece.

I am trying not to spend a ton of money. So far the only ones ive found that are reasonably priced are ones made by LIVEWIRE and another made by ALIENEARS. both seem to run around 250 -300.

Alienears look like they come with a do it yourself ear impression kit and the livewire does not. Im not really sure what this would cost to have done at an audiologist but i cant see it being cheap.

Does anyone have any recommendations or know of the quality of these two models?

Thanks

If you have someone to help you the DIY kit would be OK. I've not heard their PEM's yet nor do I know anyone using them. They look pretty reputable.

Just to make a point though I'll toss this out.

Years ago I had custom made earplugs done up, a bit to late to save my ears but had em done no less.

The cost back then was about $250 just for the plugs. Now those were made to allow a much clearer picture thne just regular stuffed ears though.

But last year we purchase my son a pair of Shure ones that were $200 without the custom fit. So you pay for a bit more performance in the end.

Don't know how much it cost, but I do have a friend that works for Futuresonics. And that is all that he does there.

They have a DIY kit that you send to them. And they keep them on file for you.
