When I get down to the mixing process and I'm working on a bass DI, I've been using Rbass or Maxxbass from the Waves bundles, as far as VSTs go. Are there any other good plugs for bass that have the ability to add the subharmonics like the waves ones do?

thanks

I'm not a big fan of either really. Unless its being used on an electronica track or in that type of music.

If I need to fix a bass track I will fall to a simple parametric EQ and work with compression if it needs it.

If ur using a DI, u could also run the IK Multimedia Ampeg, its an amp and rig emulator for Bass that has all the famous ampeg heads and such.

It can really alter ur tone, especially with a clean dry DI tone. I use it on my DI tracks to give them more life and subharmonics sure and a whole load of stuff to do with bass guitar.

Again, I dont know if Noize was hinting at this, but stuff like Maxxbass actually in my interpretation uses the higher harmonics and lower ones to create the "illusion" of more bass, which thought i havent use it extensively seems like one of those plugs that sounds great the first time u put it in, but starts to wear on ur nerves down the road. just IMHO
