Bauder is going to buy a DigiDesign Profile. So, I download the stand alone software, and looked it over.

It's very self explainable, but there is one button that has me a little confused.

Right above the head amp, there is a button marked "Guess". What the hell is that?

"Guess"? As in take your best guess for input signal? Spin the wheel, see where it lands?

WTF?

Without downloading the whole pdf file to read. From what I saw it appears to be directed at input gain. So ya, maybe it just takes its best shot and lets go.

I'll be curious as well just to find out what a GUESS button does.

If 50hz 60 will kill ya.

yea, what your referring to is the coolest thing ever. have, for example, a guiter player play at show volume, hit guess, mixer automatically sets input gain at unity. can do multiple channels at once. For it to work right, the signal has to be show level. only problem is on some channels that you may momentarly rail, EG: Kick drum, it will set the gain at unity which normally isnt enough. super cool toy though!

Cool! Can't wait until it comes in.

Which is the only draw back to DigiDesign. We ordered the Profile, but we can't expect to receive it until October.

Got to love that!?!

That's one reason I have stayed as far away from DigiDesign as I can. Although I love my old ISA card sampler from them Sample Cell II it was. 8 analog outputs and 32 meg of onboard ram, wOOt! But in its day it was the katz Azz.

But now they suck and don't service what they sell.

On the brighter side, it sounds like the Guess button might be useful here at times as well. :-)
