I record through a lexicon omega interface into a dell inspiron 1301 laptop, into cubase
i know you can record 4 channels at the same time, on the interface it says mic 1, mic 2, line1, line2, line3, line4
now i was wondering is there a way to set it up so that, i can record all 4 line inputs annd the 2 mic inputs as well, so that i could record 6 tracks at the same time?

Apr 06, 2009 10:39 am You can record at least 4 inputs at a time. I"m not sure if the 4 line inputs are just 2 stereo pairs or not. If they are, then you can record L and R of the stereo signal each to their own track if you pan them hard L and R.
Take a look at the manual, it explains how to do what you want. It starts at the bottom of page 20:

If you have microphones that you want to record, you'll need preamps in order to feed them into the line inputs. Actually that goes for anything that doesn't put out a line level signal.

Apr 06, 2009 10:57 am I believe you can set it up to use all 6 input's at once, but you will still only get 4 tracks at once, since the unit only sends 4 busses to the recording application.
And I'm not sure on the fact that you can use all 6 inputs either. Many interfaces like that simply mirror the inputs as mic 1 and line 1 are on the same buss, mic 2 and line 2 are on the same buss. You will need to check the manual to find out if they are indeed able to be used at the same time or not and sent to separate busses.
