Make sure that your left and right locators/markers are set to emcompass your entire project. Look above the ruler bar for a little marker. click and drag the left one to the first of your song, click and drag the right one to the end of your song. Then try exporting again.

Okay a did that and went to export and still the same issue. could it be because i have some tracks enabled stero and some enabled mono?

Are you doing a select all? Making sure all tracks and such are selected.

OK, so are you trying to export directly to CD?

You should do an Export to wav first and then burn a CD.

I'm not familiar with Cubase as I haven't used it in years. But exporting is a very simple process and pretty fool proof.

Something must be muted somewhere. Check and make sure that you don't have any tracks solo'd, and make sure that your master bus (or any other buses you've set up) are not muted.

If you start a new project, record something in a new track, and export does it do the same thing? How about any other existing projects? Is it only this one project?

it looks like with existing recordings and new ones its the same problem.

Nothing is muted or solo'd

try turning off every little 'speaker' icon in each of the tracks, and also turn off every little 'record' button. what i mean is, on the left of the window where the tracks all stack up, make sure that no monitor buttons are depressed on any of those tracks, and make sure no record activation buttons are depressed either. then try it again.

...and i think this could be the first time i specifically solve something for someone here. this is the solution for me in cubase when i get blank tracks. make sure no 'lamps' are lit!

Good catch forty. That is one of the more easily overlooked things in any DAW.

What all source material is on these tracks in your project? Is it all MIDI? Or are there audio tracks in there as well? Remember that you have to translate MIDI tracks into audio before mixdown since MIDI tracks don't get mixed down into the final export.

So when you open your project and press play, does it play back for you? The meters dance, the master bus' meters dance too? Open the VST output window and make sure that sound is getting to the master bus. No mutes, sliders set to a reasonable level?

On the Audio Mixdown dialog box, what do you have for the following fields:

- Channels
- Resolution
- Sample Rate
- Outputs
- Coding
