I met the deadline for the competition and here's the entry.
<cough> It's supposed to represent a band driving acress the state to a gig...because most of us that have giged around know that most of your time as a musician is spent as a driver...
'The Music Video Song' by The French Babies
I need everyone to pass it along and vote 5 stars :)
I ended up doing the drums on my Alesis QS8.1 ...and still a couple mistakes...

'Green in the morning' and 'A Man Needs An Airplane' are the better ones... put out by the larger production companies.

It's so cool that they made it to the gig! I was really hopin' so... not the band that I had expected, though. Nice touch, zek.

Mar 13, 2009 07:53 pm Just for you zek, I signed my life away at yet another place on the net.
And ya, you got the 5 stars. I only watched the others you listed for a short bit. Didn't fancy the fancy stuff at all. I prefer the simpler ones as they seem more down to earth.

Mar 16, 2009 12:02 pm I liked the video as well as the idea.
We are in the middle of gathering clips for an upcoming collection of vids (hopefully a DVD someday) and had a similar idea for one of them.
Start at the house, look at the calendar which will say "Dopiate @ 10pm", then we pan to the clock which says "9:59:30". From there we race to the car and drive to the show. We did a %400 time stretch to speed it up which arrived us at the the club in the required 30 seconds. Then of course, the song\show starts right as we run up on stage and the play speed goes back to normal.

Mar 16, 2009 10:24 pm Thanks for checking it out :) It's getting creamed in the competition! :)
I should have another (and probably better) 'extremely experimental' "film" film going shortly... I have 600 feet of 35mm being delivered Wednesday and will be testing out scanning film and working with CGI

Mar 17, 2009 05:40 pm yep... you process the negative and then it can be 'scanned' as a digital print (around 4x-16x HD resolution) and manipulated.... and if need be... printed back out to film.

Mar 17, 2009 06:32 pm I like this! I really like the claymation band. I bet editing this was a pain in the *** though...

Mar 17, 2009 07:59 pm editing was fairly easy, it was a day to make the band...another day to drive... and the last day I shot the band intro and outro, edited, and rendered.
The main problem was that for some reason the slow motion effect wasn't calculating right so finding the right ratio to get the animation and the music to end at the same time never happened :) The rest was just my pentax K100D on bracketing mode so it would take four pictures by holding the button as I drove down the road... the entire trip took about fourteen hours...
