Hi

I am using ESI 1010 for the past 4 years. I bought a new system last year and things were going fine with me, but for the past 5 days im facing a problem with my ESI 1010. The meters in the panel start moving up-down suddenly and after 10 sec(approx) the audio changes into noise and ugly distortion. The PCI card becomes hot too... But when i use it without that D sub cable i.e using s\pdif from the PCI itself, it works fine totally... My current system is Intel Core 2 duo, 2GB RAM, MSI Graphics Card and Hitachi 160 GB HDD. When i use my ESI on my another system which is P4 with 512 MB RAM the card goes fine i.e with Rack mount and D-sub.... im unable to figure it out whats happening....

PLZ help

I am wondering if you are plugging the PCI card into a PCIe type slot instead of the standard PCI slot. That or is the voltage going to the PCI slot different then it was.

Oddly though removing the breakout box solves the problem. That would hint there may be something amiss with the card other then the fact it works fine on the older system.

Have you contacted ESI tech support yet.

I think that is an issue that is either due to the PCI card itself or more then likely the PCI slot you are using in the new PC.
