Nov 18, 2008 10:31 pm Do you mean the 869?
If so, yes that is a great piece of gear and well worth the money if you have that kind of money to invest.
Be warned that is a high end piece of gear and does require a stable well running and well built PC or laptop to run it.
But yes, I've installed and used MOTU gear for years and never had an issue with their gear.

Nov 19, 2008 01:37 pm I believe you mean the 896 :) I had the 896MK3 on order a couple months ago and ran into money issues. I still plan on picking one up and adding the 8pre for more channels. The routing, FX, and mix interface just look fantastic and the sound I've heard through older Motu devices was very nice.
Nov 19, 2008 06:51 pm Oh choice yea i was meaning the 896 sorry about that great.
I have heard a few stories and reviews about data and audio droping out while recording but guess that this is more to do with the grunt of the PC as you mentioned above.

Nov 19, 2008 08:32 pm Yep, the only real issues I have ever seen are with a system that can't handle the data rates it can generate and they simply choke.

Nov 20, 2008 12:51 pm I have massive data drop on my laptop, until I turn off my wireless device. Just saying, there is a usually a reason they drop data be it 1) not fast enough 2) conflicting devices.
