The other thing that is a bit of a hot topic at the moment is Presumed Consent relating to organ donation

what do you think of that?

Once I'm dead I don't really care what gets done with the vehicle, I'm done with it anyway...I really don't understand why this is such a hot topic, though donor programs are encouraged here, why people don't I fail to understand. I'm dead, if my heart or lungs or something can help somebody else, have at it!

As long as I don't wake up in a bathtub of ice missing a kidney I'm fine with it...just make sure I'm dead first.

I totally am down for donating anything that can help someone in need after I'm gone. Like stated, why would someone just want to rot away. It is about the only thing a person CAN do after they pass.

Yep, here we used to carry a donor card that stated my organs are to be used in any way fit. Now it is actually on our drivers license. I have been listed as a donor since I turned 16.

I'm with the rest. If someone can benefit from whats left of me after I am gone then more power to them. To me that is like being an angel of sorts.

totally in agreeance too, (agreeance?)not sure how to spell that.

presuming nothing inside is cactus from abuse, go ahead and use it i say.

Imo you should feel absolutley obligated.

BH, I thought that as well. It takes some pretty major sustained abuse for them to reject certain organs. So mostly they are all usable, even for research purposes in the case of abused organs.

Been a donor ever since I've had a driver license.

Not sure anyone would want my lungs or liver though.

Herb, but the researchers at the very least will want them. In the end even that could save a life in reality.

As well, even a pair of well used lungs or a liver, which I am guessing mine are just as abused, maybe more are still usable even for a temporary fix until a more suitable donor can be found.

soon enough they'll be able to grow all these "components" if you will.

they are allready doing some amazing stuff.

even so, these old body bits are good for research as you say Noize.

They'll struggle to grow anything without stem cells but thats another argument really.

Actually its not really is it. I suppose presumed consent would apply to anyone, no matter how young they are.
