Mar 13, 2003 11:02 pm And just a double check into the software. No ASIO support as of yet, and I have seen no indication of them going that route either. It is a low dollar app so odds are they will not code for ASIO support for a while.

Mar 14, 2003 06:33 am i also have cakewalk home studio 2002. does that support it? would it be better to use? and if it does support asio, what kind of difference would it make?
thanks
jason
Mar 14, 2003 06:53 am I think Sonar 2.2 is the only version from Cakewalk that currently uses ASIO. And yes, there is a big difference, ASIO is much higher performance. In Sonar I went from 90+ms latency to 8.7ms latency when switching to ASIO.

Mar 14, 2003 07:04 am how do i swith to asio, or does the app do it automatically?
Mar 14, 2003 07:07 am In Sonar you have to go in to the Audio properties and tell it to use ASIO. With 2.2 there is a dropdown menu in the properties dialog box that you set ASIO, WDM or MME *ack*. Then close the app and open back up again and everything should be groovy.
With Steinberg apps to uses ASIO by default, but most others you need to tell them to useit.

Mar 14, 2003 07:20 am does sonar 2.0 support it?
Mar 14, 2003 07:25 am Nope, but I believe 2.2 is a free downloadable upgrade for peeps that buy 2.0.

Mar 14, 2003 04:54 pm Yes, Sonar 2.2 is a free upgrade from CakeWalk. You simply go to the site, clikc into downloads and DL it and then run the install. It will then support ASIO and there are some other major fixes and updates.
