How much should a used, perfectly working Alesis SR-16 drum machine cost? I'm trying to buy it from someone who says he's selling it real cheap. He said he'd take my best offer but I can't find anything regarding a reasonable price anywhere to reference off of. please help. thanks!

I'd also like some reviews on Kustom KPC10 10" PA Speaker Cabinet. I know it's a "Kustom" but I need a cheap PA speaker pair for around $100 for talking heads and oldies/disco music playback for a small to medium sized ballroom about 75 people.

On the SR-16, a new one will only set you back a bit under $150 in most places. But a used one runs anywhere from about $75 to $125 as they hold their value if in good shape. That unit has been around since 1991 and for good reason. Its bullet proof and does what it does better then most others.

Ah! Thank you Noize! I appreciate it. I'd also really like to know about some cheap PA speaker cabinets. I done as much research as I could find and it looks to be that Kustom is the best "cheap" one. The reviews I read weren't bad. The specs were...ok for the price. So I just might buy it. I REALLY hope they don't sound like a ringtone or something.

can't be wasting a charity club's money now...

I'll be real honest on the Kustom KPC10 units. They will sound pretty boxy and don't have a very danceable bottom end or bass response I should say. In all honestly they probably would not do a very good job filling a small ballroom with 50 or 75 people in it. They do however work very well for talking heads as you call them. :-)

You might have a look at the budget minded Peavey gear. Their 10" units seem to have a little more projection in the lower end then the Kustom's.
