If you already have a trigger input/sound module you can also send midi data out of it to use EZ drummer as well. Just don't monitor the sounds it uses.
I use my TD-6 module this way very often. Even if I'm playing while monitoring the onboard sounds I still record the midi data to use later with better drum sets in either software or another hardware module.
