Guys,
I'm a complete newb when it comes to recording. A friend of mine and I want to do some recording together, but because of distance and hectic schedules, we can't get together to sort anything out. SOOOooooo, he has a Korg D1600. My Dad has a Boss BR1600 CD. Can we get these to export some kind of project data so that we can transfer a project ( and keep the individual track data ) to each other via CD or USB stick or something like that ???

Aug 14, 2008 10:23 pm You can only transfer the data as wave files of each audio track. The units are completely different operating systems and the project data would be of no use on either machine from the other.
I would suggest exporting the track data if you can in wave file format and sending it back and forth that way.

Aug 14, 2008 10:39 pm Noize is right. Every brand of recorder uses its own partition format to store track data and they are not interchangeable.
Aug 15, 2008 11:37 am Ok, so Wav files it is. Is there a way to make sure they are transferred "in Sync" ??

Aug 15, 2008 08:49 pm They should export as basic broadcast wave files, which do not have a real time stamp, but they will line up if dropped in on the zero mark of each track. I exchange files this way frequently and have not had any real trouble to speak of at all.
