I did some recordings with my radar II - this thing is so sweet - we tracked it all in one day - I have been playing around with mixes - its not perfect - its still learning to use the equipment time for me.
Thanks for listening and any comments

Aug 12, 2008 10:52 pm I'll give a listen tomorrow evening.
Glad your enjoying the Radar though, wonderful system indeed.
Aug 13, 2008 12:12 pm Thanks - I think it is some of the best recordings I have done - now to get my vintech 473 - i just cant make the money fast enough it seems

Aug 13, 2008 05:06 pm Ahhh... RADAR... I've been at many forums where they've never even heard of it. They have no idea what they're missing.

Aug 13, 2008 07:52 pm Very tasty indeed. Level could come up, but I assume that will happen in the mastering.
Otherwise I loved the tune for sure. Nicely done and sounds absolutely great.
Aug 13, 2008 08:50 pm Thank you - I will post a couple of others - man - tracking with the RADAR is so easy - and sounds soooo good - no kidding - warm - with depth. I bought one of those TLM-103's and the acoustic was recorded with it.

Aug 13, 2008 08:57 pm Oh yeah - this one has a beautiful strat solo - matchless setting on my line 6 amp -> tlm-103 - so sweet.

Aug 13, 2008 09:24 pm OH ya, that is sweeeeeeet!!!!
Nice sound as you said on the strat for sure. I'm liking it for sure. The level is much better on this one as well. I really like the sound of this for sure. That is one smooth sounding patch on the Line 6 as well. How old is your Flextone?
That mic really pics it up nicely as well. Very warm sounding and well done tone.
Aug 13, 2008 09:34 pm Mine is a Flextone III - about 4 years old - single 12" speaker - what a great tone we got that night!
Thanks for the compliments too - Ive spent quite a wad of cash this year - so it makes me feel really good to hear good comments.
Thanks again
Steve

Aug 13, 2008 10:26 pm Yep, cash always seems to flow out when your setting up to do this kind of thing. Although I have cut way back and only buy it now if I know I will get use out of it. No longer just buying it to have it.

Aug 13, 2008 10:47 pm OMG That sounds sooooo good! I only know the Radar from hearsay, but listening to your songs the only conclusion can be: the stories are true. It sounds absolutely divine.
Loving your songs too btw. Though they would also still sound great on lesser than Radar equipment.
Bottom line, suddenly I feel so inadequate with my simple Tascam HD recorder. ;-)
Aug 14, 2008 08:12 am Thanks Nightcap.
All solos except the middle strat were recorded with a '52 reissue hot rod tele -> keeley comp (2 button) -> keeley modded boss tr-2 -> to the mesa boogie recording preamp to the RADAR.
The Radar's conveters are so smooth. We went to see our producer in Nashville last week - Kenny Royster - he is still using a RADAR 24 in the studio - with a Sony DMX R-100 console. I've got to get one of those....

Aug 14, 2008 09:24 pm Steve, this is great. I am loving that guitar tone you are getting for sure. And the tune sounds great. Everything is sitting nicely and all the sounds are so smooth.
OH ya, that Sony console would be a perfect match with the Radar for sure.
I have to say, although I'm not a huge country style fan. Your stuff could easily convert me. :-)
Well, yours and Jims are some of the best stuff I have heard in awhile.

You won't find those on ebay! ;-)
Truly enjoyed the third song too. You set the standards a little high for me.
(What do you mean understatement? LOL)
Aug 15, 2008 11:08 am Thanks for the kind words...
I saw a r-100 on ebay that ended last week - for under $5k - that seems like a deal to me.
