Left my new computer on overnight, last night, only to awake the the BSoD! It said, shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

I think it was a temp/wattage problem. I know there are programs that monitor the CPU temp. But, do you guys know of one that is for wattage use? I think I have plenty of power for it, but I just want to make sure.

rather than yet another app sitting there running in the background, hows about investing in an exhaust fan or two.

Yep, a monitor wont do any good if it simply can't get cool enough. Fans are a very good investment.

WOW, not sure then why it would over heat. Unless there is a problem on the MoBo itself or something similar. But as stated it could very well have been a power issue as well.

hard disk errors are another leading cause of BSoD's ... may be non repeatable generally as Windoze swap file is bouncing around and tries to read out of bad sector which sets off the BSoD and quietly is automagically reallocated by the harddisk... so when you buy a 100gig drive and can only format90gigs the other 10 gigs are reserved for swaping sectors as they go bad...

Hmm... I haven't seen it again yet, so... Hopefully, it's just new PC kinks.

Well, ZEK... It seems you might be right. I've come across it again, twice now. It's says Bad Spool Calling.

As I understand it, that means there is either a driver issue somewhere or bad memory in something... I've checked all the connections within the PC and everything is connected well.

Any other idea's on finding the cause of the BSoD?

can you take a picture of the BSoD (clear enough to read the codes it returns.

Bad Pool Caller is an incredibly vague error that can be caused by bad devices, bad drivers, SP2, bad networks, and a brazillion other things...

It's almost always caused by the last device that was installed...

I had problems with a BSoD not long ago. I can't remember the error message it gave me though so this might not apply to you. My problem turned out to be bad memory. If you have 2 memory chips you might want to try and take one out and see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't then try the other memory chip. I found out my problem was bad memory after a new hard drive and reformat. The plus side is I now have 1TB of external storage.

I'll see what I can do, but if the print screen doesn't work, I don't have a camera so... :(

My brother told me to try that RAM switch to see what happens. Also, my dad said to run a Scan Disk through DoS and see if it turns up and bad sectors. So, I will try both and see what I can do.

THank you ALL for your help!
