Hi all,

I'm wondering where I can find a decent site or page or book that covers comprehensively about sonar 6 or 7, for beginners to the suite?

Thanks

This is supposed to be the book for Sonar, and I believe if you purchase it thru Cakewalks site they have a special going for Sonar 7 users that includes the book and a video tutorial for I think $49.

Yep, that is the guy that knows it almost as well as Brandon from Cakewalk.

But if you have any question's feel free to ask here. I've been using Cakewalk products since the very beginning. Am running Sonar 7 PE now as well as back installs to 3. So I can answer almost any question you might have.

Thanks guys for the reply. I actually picked up the Sonar 7 Power by Scott from the book store, is that the guy you guys are talking about?

by the way, I recently got NI bandstand but I have a problem, every time I try to play through the stand alone version on PC with a midi controller, there's two notes coming through, one is whatever sound I patched, another is always the piano sound, why is this?

thanks a bunch,
Roy

Your controller may be set to OMNI output. Set it to s single channel and that should clear that up.

Hi Noize:

could you please shine some light on how to accomplish this in bandstand stand alone version?

I tried to adjust the "midi input" option without success, still both sounds coming through.

My midi controller (maudio oxygen 61) is plugged into a PC via USB

You need to set it on the controller itself. There should be a setting to do just say channel 1 and so on. I'm not that familiar with that keyboard but it should be right in the manual as to how to set the channel.
