Hey all, if you get a chance, check out our Hockey Night in Canada theme song submission. For those that don't know HNIC no longer hold the rights to the past theme song so they are holding a contest for Canadian residents only. This song was originally wrtiten as a sports song so hopefully it will do well. There is $100K in it for the winner!

Jul 28, 2008 06:42 pm Haha, no worries Deon! Cheers for listening. This has "crap shoot" written all over it. I can't imangine how they are going to reach a winner with this. A true competition would extend beyond the web but anyhow..... its a $100K and it is worth playing to win is suppose.
Jul 28, 2008 09:49 pm Nicely done. I think it fits the bill myself. The guy griping about it being too long probably doesn't understand it can be cut down to fit whatever they want.
But ya, a hint of Satch in there from the Surfing album for sure. I personally liked it all the way through as well.
I'll have to go back and listen some more, enjoyed it that much.

I wish they'd let us Yanks get involved... I'd always thought that the jam WYD and I recorded(Smashville) a while back, was geared for this kind'a thing... thus the title .

BH, I' might be an old fart but I still dig rock music, and even harder stuff. So no guff from me on this. I liked this one as well. More licks in this one I think which kept it a bit faster paced. Short n' sweet.

BH- I haven't listened to this one in a while... as I recall it's a bit underdone, but clean . I'll get it up here today, and then maybe you can give it a listen to see if this is the kind of thing they'd be looking for . I dun'no... it screams Hockey to me . : )
