Im Looking To purchase a keyboard.. I seen this one www.zzounds.com...item--CASCTK810 .. And it seems to be what im looking for.. Something simple and cheap because im new to using a keyboard, lol but i would also like to use something that will get the job done(I mainly just make beats).. Im using Acid Pro and will soon be upgrading from FL 7 to FL 8.. Do you think This keyboard is an *OKAY* Choice or should i look elsewhere?

Well, this is a matter of opinion, but I've never been very fond of Casio keyboards. Although maybe they've changed in recent years. When dealing with personal keyboards like that, I think I'd prefer Yamaha. My old Yamaha PSR-520 bought in '96 or '97 lasted about a full decade before I ditched it for a controller. (Keys were starting to fail on it)

Anyway, I think the question here is, what do you want out of the keyboard? Are you using it strictly as a midi-controller, or will the keyboard need its own internal sounds as well? Judging from your suggestion, I'm guessing you're looking at keyboards with the built-in speakers, and a budget of about $150 to $200?

You can probably do a little better for that money though. That particular keyboard (CTK810) doesn't appear to have much in the way of ratings/reviews. I'd look at the Yamahas in the same price range. Some of them have better reviews/feedback.

if you're looking at having both . i've found Novation has a nice little controller synth and interface all in one for arounf 250-300$. I have one and a yamaha PSR 250 . and the yamaha has some problems "talking" back with midi. It's made to be a stand alone . if you want a stand alone synth that sounds good and midi/usB audio device , look into the XIO25 (i think that'swhat it is or 49) . just an idea.
