I own one as well. It's pretty easy. Once your 122 is plugged into your computer, assign it as the input and output for your computer.

From there, the white RCA goes to the left monitor. And the red to the right.

Make sure that the direct monitoring is on, and the volume is up.

That should do it.

Is the phantom power on?

If so, turn it off. See if the buzz goes away.

There is a piece from RDL (Radio Design Labs) That will balance the RCA to XLR.

That is the problem here. It's looking for a balance signal.

For now, you can use a DI. Just remember that it's spiting out mic level, as opposed to line.

You may have to really jack the gain up.

Oh, and may still have to flip the ground lift on the DI.

Yes, you can run 1/4" or XLR balanced cables from the LINE OUTPUTS from the 122 to the inputs of the KRK's.

The problem is that you are still unbalanced.

You have to run it through a transformer to get it balanced.

That is what a DI is. DI stands for Direct Injection. Which is just a fancy term for impedance matching.

www.whirlwindusa.com/dirbox.html

By running the signal into the DI, it will balance the output of the 122.

The only problem is that it will be low in signal. The reason being. DI' take a line level signal in, and turn out a mic level signal.

Either this way, or some balancing transformer is what you need to get ride of the buzz in your system.

Dude, above is exactly what I said.

Of course you will get nothing form the inputs of the sound card. You need to use the outputs.

Inputs are for signal going in and ouputs are for signal going out.

On the noise, I wonder if you have blown them up from hooking them up wrong?

Ah, I didn't see the 122 with the RCA outputs. Then you will need to feed the monitor's as Rob described above with a DI box to get a balanced signal to the speaker's.
