quik headphone amp question!

will a headphone amp help me to here my vocals better in the headphones?

really, mostly what a headphone amp does is allow more headphones to plug into it and have adjustable volumes for each of them, I dunno what affect it would have on what you hear...it'd be the same sound...

Some mixing consoles share the headphone amp with a solo bus.

If that is the case with yours, then an external headphone amp is not that bad of an idea.

Some headphone amps also can input two or more signals and allows the listener to adjust the mix between them. Technically if two folks were tracking at once one could have louder monitors for their vox while the other had a more drum heavy mix.

If laying vox after the song is recorded, I usually wait until I have a fairly decent mix so the headphones are not so crowded with freq's. Also, good headphones can make the difference in clarity if it sounds muddy.
