Recently there have been clicks and pops in the higher frequencies of certain VST synths that i have been using during both playback and after i have exported the tracks to separate wav files. I recently upgraded from windows xp x86 to x64 could that be the issue?
The odd thing is that the CPU usage bar only goes up to 10-13 at the very highest. CPU hogs like absynth are especially bad, i tried switching on the multi-threaded processing option but that didn't change anything.
I searched everywhere for information on this issue, could this be a driver problem? i know Fl Studio encodes in real-time maybe its my playback drivers?

Jun 25, 2008 09:23 pm It could be partly FL but it as well could be the buffer settings for the interface. Are you using the internal sound card or an outboard higher performance one?
If you are using the onboard then that is probably the issue as it really can't handle the VSTi's at all.
But try going in and setting the buffer up to 256 or 512 for playback and see if that helps. I'm pretty sure that will be the issue.
Jun 25, 2008 09:46 pm yeah it was the onboard card at fault, i set my monitors back up for playback through my toneport and everything works fine again. i use my onboard card for simply listening to music most of the time and when i opened up winamp earlier even that was popping and cracking so it must be some kind of driver issue

Jun 25, 2008 10:12 pm Well it might be the onboard conflicting with the Toneport drivers. But the onboards don't normally run very well when playing high rez audio, even though they state they can.
