Hello There,
Im planning to get the EZDrummer software from Toontrack and I was wondering if its possible that I program the drums in GuitarPro5 and export them into a midi file and import the midi file in Cubase LE and use the Drum sounds in EZDrummer so that the drums I programmed would sound real?
Thank You and I really would appreciate any answer or comment... I really need help on this I hope that anyone could spare time to reply to this post. Thank You and Godbless

Jun 17, 2008 03:18 am Hello Louie. The answer is absolutely! You can use a midi file to trigger the samples provided in EZDrummer. So, just as you said, export midi from GP5(or any other midi programming software) and import into cubase(or other host software.) Great right?!

Jun 17, 2008 10:44 am I might be missing somehting here but I'm pretty sure you could rewire EZDrummer into Cubase and save a step. You would also have more flexibility if you wanted to change something afterwards.

Jun 19, 2008 05:45 pm You should be able to program your MIDI parts in Cubase quite easily. Download the MIDI Maps for Cubase on the Toontrack site so you'll know which MIDI note goes to which kit piece.
That's really the only drawback with doing your programming in GuitarPro5. Is the MIDI mapping going to correspond with EZD once you import the MIDI into Cubase and assign EZD to the MIDI track. If GP5 uses GM (which I believe it does) things should map accordingly. Keep in mind that EZD uses its own mapping that uses more articulation than are available in GM so I'd recommend programming in Cubase.
