without networking! ouch, yeah i know.

i've got a laptop (well my g/f does) with some mighty fine mp3's on it that i wanna transfer to my ipod's home computer which is not online....burning cd/dvd seems the only choice, but what if i connect usb to usb? is that possible? i just wanna transfer files from one to the other quickly without networking.

YOu can hook them together via the network card on the computer itself without hooking to the actual network.

We used to do it via serial and parallel ports setting them as the com port and then transferring data that way. Man was that slow. It would be faster now just copying to a USB thumb drive. If you have an external USB or firewire drive use that instead.
