Hey, I was reading how each drum after tracking sits within a certain section on the EQ. But HOW DO YOU KNOW what section it is supposed to sit in in the mix?

You might find this frequency chart helpful. This chart also has its associated harmonics

to understand that chart you must know what the yellow and the orange mean.

is the point at which the color changes the typical fundamental of the instrument?

the orange would be the fundamental frequencies and the yellow is the harmonic content. I'm not sure about the black.

Not sure but the black should be or looks to be the extende4d range which is playable but not often used for the specified instrument. Don't quote me on that though.

I used to use a similar chart when building sample libraries and that was what it appears to be. I'll look and see if I still have it.

I use that chart, the actual site is interactive and does indeed display fundamentals etc.
