1 second delay with amplitube!!!!!

I am experiencing a 1 second delay with amplitube 2.1. I have adjusted the sample rate to 48000 and buffer size is 2048, this is the only way i can get a clear sound any other combination produces interference and cracking and popping. I have a 2 gig processor and 1.5 gig of ram.
I am using a behringer uca202 plugin, with a mixer, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

I'm not clued up on the behringer sound cards, but you'll have to reduce the the buffer size to at least 512 for a reasonable delay. 48kHz is pretty taxing on ye' old CPU, so try using 16Bit 44.1kHz in combo with a lower buffer size.

When i reduce buffer size to 512, there is heaps of cracking, popping and interference?? I also noticed that when im playing the cpu usage meter reads between 13 and 21%? Would the levels on the mixer cause this type of interference?
Appreciate your help!

It definitely sounds like the uca202, not the mixer. CPU usage is fine then. What drivers are you using?

No worries. Drivers are the software you need to install for your computer to recognise your hardware/soundcard.

the uca202 has its own driver, when you plug it in to the usb, pc just recognizes it.

Just browsing a few other forums and found:
Quote:
The UCA202 claims 'ultra low latency', but yes it seems it doesn't have a native ASIO driver, and ASIO4ALL or ASIO2KS are recommended.

So, I'd recommend to download and install either the ASIO4ALL or ASIO2KS drivers and trying them out instead of the Behringer driver. I'm no computer wizz, so hopefully someone else can drop in and confirm my findings.
