USB 2.0 + vista compatable interfaces?

so it is finally time for me to drop some money on an interface....my POS vista system's intergrated audio card isn't gonna cut it (it's not wdm OR asio OR mme)...

so when i file my taxes tonight (hehe i love waitin' 'till the last min.) i'm gonna put the money into my setup....thing is i've never shopped for USB 2.0 interfaces....i could go firewire but i'd hafta get a card so i'd just rather not use up a pci slot on that.

price range is under $500 USD and i'd like to have atleast 2 line inputs and 2 balanced outputs and a headphone jack....i've two channels of preamps so they arn't necessary....i'm more intersted in quality. i'll prolly be recording/mixing at 44.1/24 so all the higher samplerates are bonus. i WILL be running 64 bit in the box, but i don't think that affects the interface.

all suggestions welcome, name's i'm thinking of are RME, Apogee, etc. something a bit more high end.
