what is the use of a external convertor?do u need one?

i have the rme fireface 800

many people say that i need a digital convertor too like this one

do i need one?
and if i do why i need one?ad what is the usage of this?
doens my audio interface cover my needs?

Hmmm, that is an odd statement. Your fireface is a converter and the only reason I could see for "needing" the other is if you wanted to add more channels. Not much detail on those pages really, but I would say "no" you do not "need" one.

yeah, the answers no.

people may be hearing RME and assuming that you need a converter...as a lot of their products do... the Fireface however contains analog inputs and can do the conversion itself.

Many of RME's products are basically ADAT I/O cards so you can buy 512 channels of outboard AD/DA converters with optical outs and plug them into a single computer...
