Burnsville high school student had a gun found in his car.
It was stated the students actions posed no immediate threat, Police said they were "not aware of any threats or intent on the part of the student to harm anyone at school" when the found the gun in his car.
Doesn't this beg the question of why they were searching his car in the first place? It's not like they search every car that parks there every day, and if the execute random searches, what are the odds of picking his in one of the largest high schools in the state?
I smell a cover up to save hysteria in the community.

Jan 24, 2008 04:53 pm nah, some kid keeps a weapon in his car... some goody goody finds out and outs them.
Lots of reasons for a someone to keep a gun in their car... Maybe he was a pizza delivery guy? I know the managers have to be armed nowadays...

Police said they believe the incident was the result of a conflict that the student was having away from school.

Jan 24, 2008 06:05 pm It is my feeling that dB will be proven correct...
I know around here that if a kid had a gun in his car in the school parking lot the feces would hit the fan (after we dumped it out of the Reeboks).
Plus, the article says that the kid is 18. Must be the son of a school board member or the mayor...

Jan 24, 2008 07:40 pm geez, you guys have all the fun over there.
Jan 24, 2008 07:53 pm I sincerely hope zek is being sarcastic...of course there are reasons, but there are also rules on school grounds...no guns, and that is a good rule.

Jan 24, 2008 08:45 pm no I'm not being sarcastic.
I knew a number of people who took guns... and the guns were kept in the cars... because to a teenager the parking lot is not 'at school.' There's no smoking at school too... but look at any high school parking lot. :)

Jan 24, 2008 11:16 pm huh... no login needed here...
basically it was a "prank"... scattering ammo around the school. Caught him with surveillance footage.
Jan 25, 2008 12:00 am Thank God it was only a prank. Around here in Philly, it is certainly not that way.
Kids around here bring a gun to school so often, that the news don't report on it any more.
Even the elementary schools have metal detectors! Elementary schools!
Thank God I am not of that age any more. Don't think I would survive.

yep, he's an idiot...
ya know what zek, I knew a number of kids that had guns when I was a kid too, I had guns, many kids had jackknives on their belts and stuff...but it's a different world, schools have, for good reason, tightened up because of the number of idiots like this.

Jan 27, 2008 03:52 pm Tuna and all the other scouts his age know this guy. Some parents say there is more to the story then is being let out or told. Some how, one party involved is connected with either the school board or some prestigious office, so everything is not being disclosed.
He was not living out of his car as he described, the parent thing is also being questioned by several families around the area as well.
Either way, the kid is an absolute moron and should sit and rot for awhile.
