Phase 2 Complete: Server Functional

I'm in a pretty good mood right now.

Just finished configuring Samba under ubuntu server, so I have a working file server for my DAW. Just transferred my VST and SF2 over to it via tunnelier. Freed up about 5GB on my windows machine.

Anyways, the server is functional, and is mapped as a network drive on my system. The only issue I have is that FL Studio can't seem to read the Jamstix 2 Data directory. But that might just be a permissions issue or something. All the plugins are detected, as are the SF2, and they load up properly.

Now I just need to do some tweaking, and get another lesson in iptables from the network admin guy I work with. The only downside right now is that I have to use DHCP for the network interface. Not sure I want to fight with my ISP to obtain a static IP. :P

I've learned quite a bit over the last month or two, particularly with linux and networking. I'm configuring php and squirrelmail for the mail server at work. :D

Good point. I'll do that, and I guess this thread can get 86'd.
