Jan 17, 2008 07:53 am Hi! welcome to the forum!
To answer your question, 'music' is anything recorded by Protools.
to get some, I would suggest ripping your CD collection to your harddrive, and then 'sampling' the sounds you like... you can then easily remove the vocals and splice together the individual instruments any way you like.
hope that helps
Jan 17, 2008 08:14 am this has the makings of an interesting thread...

Jan 17, 2008 08:27 am Actually, I think you would have better luck if you were to RIP your friends CD collection to your harddrive. This way you can sample two sources at once (yours and his).
If you're really 'pro' you will upgrade from your onboard soundcard to a soundblaster live value edition. These things are the bomb. I was over at this dude's house (not uncle dude), and he was spinnin tracks outta his PC, and it was totally slammin, and he was playing out of a SBLVE, and it was awesome.
(you'll notice how I steered clear of the 'you have to use a PRS' direction).
Jan 17, 2008 08:33 am ...also, be sure after ripping to put them up on P2P to share with all...

Jan 17, 2008 09:02 am Dump: three chords (the ones marked 1,4,5 work best), Two cups of rythum, three cups of vocals, one teaspoon dynamics, a pinch of talent, into a bagie and shake vigoriously. Pour the contents into a baking pan and cover with 10 pounds of marketing. Bake at 450 for 20 minutes and serve hot.
Jan 17, 2008 10:22 am RTFM.

bahahahahahaha
Jan 17, 2008 10:48 am Stuff your washing machine with an unbalanced load. Fill a medium-sized wicker basket with assorted silverware and coins. Attach the basket firmly to the top of the machine using duct tape, heavy Velcro, or similar product. While waiting for the spin cycle, set up a SDC (two for stereo, in an X-Y configuration) just inside the rim of the basket.
When the machine enters the spin cycle, hit record. Continue recording until the end of the cycle. In post-production, apply pitch bending to taste. Time stretching can also be utilized to accommodate any tempo.
You’ll find this a convenient way to add some percussion if a tambourine is beyond your budget.

Jan 17, 2008 11:44 am You will definately need Pro Tools and a PRS since they are made by the same company they work well together.
Then you will need an 18" x 18" model of Stonehenge and three human sized cocoons.
Jan 17, 2008 11:46 am ...and record it in doubly.

I love that scene !
That and the "**** the napkin !" line .
Sorry forty, it could've been an interesting thread(still might be), but the memory of Walter(remember Walter ?) has lent this thread to feel just a bit contrived .

Jan 17, 2008 05:53 pm To make music you will need a 300-400w amplifier and a basic desktop pc microphone and the SBLive mentioned above. Protools Free edition should work well for you here (you'll possibly be able to get a tech to remove the program from your HD later when you upgrade).
Using only a PRS Dragon you can then record the clean guitar tracks.
What you are looking for is transparent audio.
A basic rhythm track of one hand clapping comes next.
You'll be alright, so long as the mods and admins here are not haters.
Then MERCHANDISING.
As for your PC problem, you'll need a fresh copy of Windows Millenium.
The Error message is due to your not installing the VERY LATEST version Protools and associated hardware.
I suggest immediately buyingtheir latest upgrade, before they switch exclusively to Mac.

This means you have to insert the boot floppy.
which OS are you running? OS/2, OS9, or OS/360?
I'll assume OS/360... as it's the bigger number... you may have to adjust your boot sequences... which can easily be done with any paper hole puncher...

Jan 17, 2008 07:54 pm Some funny stuff for sure.
Herb, that reminds me of how they recorded the cash register sound for Money. Simply dumping handfuls of change into a mixing bowl of some sort and then dumping onto a counter top. Recorded that several times, looped it and the rest is history.
I personally liked PICNIC by the way.
Jan 17, 2008 11:32 pm Ahaa.. Problem In Chair, Not In Computer.
I'm ashamed to say I had to Google that.

Jan 18, 2008 10:19 pm I'm going to get **** faced tomorrow night. Sunday is me turning 50. I'm gonna drink like an 18 year old. Well, 21 year old these days.
I gotta find a date to drink with though. Ah, who am I kidding, I'll be sitting in here working as usual slowly sloshing myself into oblivion.
