Interesting read, I think. I was expecting to see you interviewing some one. Instead it is you being interviewed. I did get a kick out of some of the responses for sure.

So are you still with the band Thorn then?

No, we parted ways about 7 months ago when I moved to take care of my Mother out of state. I'm on a solo kick now, trying to get my personal music out there.

I see. Personal music is good as well. I loved being in a band myself. Just hated watching a good band get torn to shreds by big heads and bigger egos infighting all the time. So I walked away from the music even on a personal level for awhile. Could not stay away though as is plainly visible.

Thorn was an amazing group of guys, the only down side was they were an older bunch than I(early 30's,) and not too open to new music, other than the drummer. They were the most talented, accepting, inviting, and friendly guys I've ever worked with, but I had family issues and they kinda did as well. I've got to give it to those guys, if I put in 200% they'd try to put in 210%. We were all competitive to see who could do the most for the well being of the band. All in all, I'd love to get back together with them, and distance makes the heart grow fonder. I really miss those guys.

Fun interview, but had to stop reading at "favorite place" . : p

The 'band thing' can truly be a double-edged sword at times . So much energy(of one sort or another) gets invested in it, and then that energy is soley dependant upon the weakest link within the group . After doing this a few times myself, I've become increasingly aware of the responsability that each member has within the group . Needless to say, good group dynamics should make the best of your music better, BUT there is always a price to pay for access to 'finding' the parts of your music that weren't there originally . I've played 'the guy who makes someone elses stuff sound good-thing', as well as 'the dictator-thing'... niether sound as good as the 'every member respects everyone's input, and gives it a fare shake before using it, or canning it, and moving on-thing' . BUT that is the holy-grail for which all band-based musicians seek . The path of finding it can be treacherous .

Ya, out of all the people I had played with over the year's I can actually name 5 that did not carry their personal demon's into the mix and cause major havoc for their entire stay, or play whichever you like.

But there were the exceptions to the rule that made playing enjoyable for sure.
