Jan 06, 2008 12:13 am Cakewalk what? They have many different version's. Never used wavepad or audacity. Although you should simply be able to load a wav file or mp3 of the instrumental track into a set of tracks. Then set up another audio track and arm it to record, making sure to select your samson mic as the input and then hit record.

Jan 06, 2008 07:31 pm Use either Audacity or Sonar le then. Both will set up pretty much as I described above. You just need to go in and select your preferences for the input and output and your good to go.

Jan 07, 2008 12:09 pm put the instrumental in one track, and set your mic to record in a second track, making sure to select your mic as the input in the track you want to record in. Hit record, and spit. Voila.
I would prolly use sonar le.

Jan 18, 2008 09:39 pm sup people i have an issue with sonar le and need ur help. it starts when i play a song or somethin and when i try to load up sonar it says another application is using it or watever. and so it wont work so i have to restart my computer and then make sure i'm not playing any audio and then i open up sonar. when i tried to change the driver to ASIO for both the input (the mic) and the output(the soundmax digital audio) the sonar wouldn't work and when i try to load it, it says it encountered a problem and needs to close. So then i tried restarting the computer but still no luck, tried system restore to get it back to the default settings but NOPE, tried deleting it BUT IT WONT LET ME, so that i could reinstall it BUT NOTHING, still no luck.hope u have the answers thanx in advance

Jan 19, 2008 03:50 pm You can't just delete an application. You need to un-install it with the un-install line that will appear in the program menu.
Simply go to Programs, Cakewalk, un-install and click that. It will then remove the software so you can try re-installing it.

Jan 19, 2008 05:15 pm That is not a good sign at all. Actually it should have installed the un-install application if it was a full version of Sonar le. Did you get this with an interface?

Jan 20, 2008 05:39 pm Did you by chance install the program with other programs running in the back ground? It sounds like it may have done some damage to the install and not installed correctly at all.
You can try installing over the top of the first install or choose repair installation and see if that helps at all. Otherwise you are going to need to do some digging in the Registry files to remove all the associated files before you re-install it or you will end up with the same problem all over again.
Not sure how changing to ASIO drivers could have mucked it up that badly.
