Shure Beta 52 Problem

I'm having volume problems when micing a bass amp with my new shure beta 52. I'm running it through the mic 1 input on a lexicon omega into cubase. Even with the trim all the way up on the lexicon, I am having to turn up extremely loud on the amp to get the proper volume input on cubase. Am i missing something, or does it sound like a dud mic? I did buy it for quite a good deal on ebay, and i have definitely heard of bum mics before..

Welcome to HRC.

Have you checked the signal setting on the software part of the Omega. If its input setting is too low that might cause the issue of low volume coming into Cubase.

Also you might want to make sure the level setting in Cubase is set properly as well.

Lastly it is possible you might have a bad cable as well.

But it is also entirely possible you got a bad mic off ebay.

If the deal looks to good to be true, it probably is. Sad but true.
